Boys Varsity Cross CountryOn Thursday afternoon the boys' cross country team left no doubt of their improvement, placing 7th in the OK Red Conference Championships. The Varsity Dawgs improved their team score more than any team in the conference during the season. For the day, 18 Grandville runners achieved lifetime best times. Brothers Carter and Caden Livermore were named all-conference performers by virtue of their 4th and 12th place finishes, respectively. The Dawgs will compete next on Saturday at the MHSAA Regional Championships

Boys Varsity Cross CountryOn Saturday afternoon the boys' cross country team capitalized on their last opportunity to race together as a team, placing 6th at the Regional Championships. The varsity Dawgs were led by Carter Livermore, Caden Livermore, Aaron Ebels, Jacob McDaniel and Lorens Bishop. The junior varsity Dawgs were led by Lucas Licari, Kyle Karr, Devon Lauters, Kaiden Murdock and Alex Gorsh. For the day, 9 more Grandville runners achieved lifetime best times and 1 seasonal best time. Grandville was led by three freshmen – Aaron Ebels, Carson Lauters and Cash Sipich – followed by Jack Paulsen, Lucas Licari, Kyle Karr, Arie TerBeek, Abol Abol, Lucas Kranzusch and Devon Lauters. Girls Varsity/JV Cross CountryThe girls cross country team placed sixth at the regional meet this past Saturday, moving up from their seventh place regional ranking. Chloe DeRidder (18:59) finished fifth and qualified for the MHSAA State cross country finals taking place next weekend November 4 at Michigan International Speedway. The rest of the varsity team finished their season with strong performances. Macallie Retan (20:11) placed 26th with a personal record time, followed by Audrey Huff (20:28) in 35th. Kyrstie Celebuski (21:05) and Bella Cardenas (21:30) were next for Grandville in 48th and 57th place respectively, both with personal record times. Chloe DeRidder (18:48) led the girls in fourth place, earning All-Conference and running the 6th fastest time ever on the Riverside Park course for GHS girls cross country. In one of the most competitive meets in the Midwest, the Varsity Dawgs finished in 26th place and the Junior Varsity Dawgs in 21st place.
