Grandville traveled to Zeeland East this evening for a best 3 out of 5 dual.  Zeeland East got out to a 14-7 lead after having a six straight serving streak in the first set. Grandville attempted to close the gap, but unable to keep control of the serve,  again allowing Zeeland East to have an 18-11 lead.  Zeeland East score once more to 19 before Grandville rallied back after Freshman defensive specialist Reegan Loveland served to an 18-19 game.  Grandville staying low on defense, and getting the set into Grandville hitters hands allowed for Grandville to close out the first set 28-26.  

The scores bounced back and forth in the second set making it a close game until Senior defensive specialist  Mackenna Shampine served seven straight points, making it a 24-18 game.  Service error on Zeeland East closed the set for  Grandville 25-20.

Grandville came out firing in the third set with a 8-1 lead.  Not backing down, Grandvilles tight defense and fast offense was no match for Zeeland East. Junior setter Kacie Stoneburner put up a quick set out of the middle for a kill from Sophomore middle hitter Cece Johnson, closing the set 25-15.

Grandvilles overall record is 11-6-2.  

Grandville will be traveling Saturday to compete in Mt Pleasants Invite.
