Grandville Volleyball traveled to Mt. Pleasant for the 11 team, 2 pool, Oiler Invitational.  Pool A consisted of Mt. Pleasant, Morley Stanwood, Chippewa Hills, Haslett, Calvin Christian, and Shelby.  Pool B was Grandville, Lowell, Laingsburg, St. Louis, and Houghton Lake.

Grandville finsihed pool play overall 3-1, defeating Laingsburg: 25-14, 25-15, St. Louis: 25-18, 25-12, and Houghton Lake: 25-11, 25-17 and falling to Lowell: 14-25, 19-25. 

Grandville finished pool play over all 4th, matching up against the 5th team Morley Stanwood.  Grandville played an aggressive match of volleyball, defeating Morley Stanwood 25-15, 25-18.  Semi-finals Grandville faced Lowell for the second time today, falling to them 23-25, 17-25.  Grandville played a very powerful first set, knowing that they had to come out swinging and playing smart.  "Although a win would of been great, since this is our third time seeing Lowell, I'm not disappointment by our performance.  We played great volleyball today and we have continued to improve since the start of the season."  said Coach Amy Wierenga. 

Grandville ended the day 4-2, 15-9-2 overall

Grandville gears up for their first Ok Red Conference match up this Thursday, September 13th, at East Kentwood.
