The Grandville girls cross country team competed well at the West Ottawa Bredweg Invitational this past Saturday for their second race of the season. Olivia McKellar (22:13) led the team for the second time, followed by Kaylee Scott (23:07). Maddy Wolf (23:19) and Hailey Kempf (23:20) finished within a second of each other, and Elise Ferguson (23:44) completed the 5k race close behind to round out the top five.

JV had many girls step up with strong performances. The top five finishers for Grandville were Allie Arnsman (23:27), Celia Kingscott (23:54), Lindsay Keranen (24:49), Alex Webster (25:14), and Savannha Captain (25:53).

There were multiple personal records for the day, set by Josie Callendar (31:20), Grace Hargrove-Brown (29:30), Savannha Captain, and Celia Kingscott. Girls who completed their first high school cross country race were Adi Martin (32:45), Emily Piper (26:35), and Allie Arnsman (23:27).

Overall the girls competed with incredible teamwork and determination. They look forward to their next cross country meet at Rockford Tuesday September 17.
