The Grandville girls cross country team competed at the Bath Invitational Saturday for their first race of the season. Even while missing some of the upperclassmen leaders at this meet, the underclassmen stepped up to the plate with great performances. Sophomore Maddy Wolf led the varsity team, tying her personal best time (21:24) in her first race of the season. Freshman Lindsay Keranen finished one second behind (21:25) for an incredible 1-2 punch. Freshman Emily Gray finished third for Grandville (21:55), followed by sophomores Hailey Kempf (23:17) and Loren Wilkie (23:36).

Senior Sophia Hopkins completed the 5k in a person best by almost an entire minute, and sophomore Rose Meyer set a personal best by 20 seconds.

The Grandville JV girls placed 8^th out of 19 teams, led by Braylon Taylor (23:54), Tori Francis (24:09), Alex Webster (24:10), Halle Oczepek (24:24), and Courtney Gregorski (24:30). Sydney Spicuzza, Lucia Alberini, Sofia D'Arienzo, and Kseniya Korbut were the four girls who completed their first 5k ever (3.1 miles) on a tough course.
